My Nightmare Before Christmas Part 20Jack's POV
" I'm still not sure how you got into Halloween Town or how you died, but I do know why you're here today." I began to explain, Medea's eyebrow perked with interest.
" Go on."
" When Zero found you in the cemetery, your arm was bleeding terribly," she glanced at her now boney arm, " and you were so close to death. I couldn't stand to see it, so I gave you an afterlife."
" I'm sure the witch sisters explain how life energies work, right?"
" Yeah, it's like blood."
" Well I gave some of mine to you. And I could've lost my afterlife because of it."
" Because there wasn't enough in your body."
" But why did you do it?"
" Because no one came to help me that night. My sleigh crashed and there was fire and an explosion, but none of my citizen came to see if I was okay."
" So you gave me an afterlife because of... empathy?"
" Yes. And the only reason I didn't tell was because I was afraid something like this would happen."
" Jack... I'm so sorry."
" I don'
My Nightmare Before Christmas Part 19KIDNAPPED? Jack would never! Would he? So many thoughts were racing through my head, I could hardly remember them.
" So if I'm this Daffodil girl, and she was kidnapped last year at this time by the skeleton that ruined Christmas... but this still doesn't explain how I-" I remembered Mortimer was still here. I looked at him afraid to finish my sentence.
" Explain how you what?"
"... How I died." I could've sworn I heard a snap as his heart was just broken.
Daffodil, my friend and my love, had died and the only reason I knew was because... she told me.
" Am I seeing things or are you actually an undead corpse walking around my room?"
" You're making me sound like a zombie, but yeah, I'm dead and walking."
" This is so much to take in."
A thought just came into my head. If Daffodil/Medea was alive when she was kidnapped and dead now, that would mean... I don't even want to say it. The thought is still too horrible, but you understand what I was going to say. It's
My Nightmare Before CHristmas Part 18Christmas wasn't as cheery in the real world than in Christmas Town. Not as many colors or lights or warm feelings, just decor put up with empty feelings. But that wasn't important now, I had to find Mortimer.
" His house should be right up Burton Street. Ah, here we are." I almost hesitated to go up to the window. While everyone else's decorations had no feeling, his had some kind of sadness with them. Sadness for me? Now I really had to see him! I walked to the window and tapped the glass.
Exactly a year ago, I was on the phone with the girl I loved. Now she was gone, most likely dead. But on Halloween, was that her? No it couldn't have been. Daffodil would've been happy to see me, that girl looked at me like we just met. But something was in her eyes, some kind of recognition. What was it...
Tap tap tap!
I looked up from my thoughts of that girl, thinking I was seeing things. She was back! The girl from Halloween! I dashed over to the window. She mouth
My Nightmare Before Christmas Part 17Medea's POV
I have no idea what on earth Jack was working on with all of these orange gemstones and gold pieces, but it was certainly keeping him occupied when he wasn't planning for next year's Halloween. Thankfully, he was still busy when Christmas came around the corner, the perfect moment to make my escape to the real world. My first thought was to take the passage from the graveyard, but I would be more hidden if I took the door at that place with the doors Jack called the Hinterlands. I heard him say that if you go through your own door, you come to the real world. Real world. That sounded so familiar, I couldn't put my boney finger on it. But that was where I needed to go, that's where this Mortimer character was, as well as my past.
I knew something was up with the blue girl that night on Halloween. She looked at that boy funny, kind like of the way I did when Master Jack brought home all those sparkly thing from the tree door. I had a bad feeling about those
